The subtle, internal form of the central axis of the body is gently revealed through the proper alignment of the body in asana practice. In these classes we look closely at the detail of alignment and it’s relation to breath, bandas, and dristi—the tools used to focus attention on the body naturally. Postures are included from Surya Namaskar A & B, the Standing Sequence, seated poses from the Primary Series, and the Finishing Sequence. Guided classes are for all levels of practice, including the brand new beginner.
Mysore:
Inspired by the teaching of Sri K. Pattabhi Jois of Mysore, India, this is the traditional method in which Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga is learned. Students are allowed to move at their own pace while they receive individualized instruction from the teacher. In this way, the nuance of one’s personal practice and awareness unfolds. Beginners are most welcome, and all levels are encouraged come.
